We first encountered Freaky Squeakies at our vet in Vermont. And to be completely honest, the first one to fall in love with the oblong, colorful balls... was me. I thought the little face, the bright colors, and the little high-pitched squeak was TOO CUTE! At first, Lally wasn't one hundred percent on board with the Freaky Squeakies. But it soon became her number one favorite toy. Your dog may act the same way when he is in love with a particular toy. Lally brings the Freaky Squeaky ball outside when she goes to the bathroom. She brings the toy to bed. She knows where it is at all times. If you say, "Where's your ball? Gimme that ball!" she will go get it and bring it to you.
Freaky Squeakies are somewhere on the softness scale towards the stuffed toy end. They're made of latex rubber and are VERY squeezable. If your dog isn't a fan of hard rubber toys, he may go for a Freaky Squeaky instead. I tend to buy them by the half dozen, because once Moose manages to snatch the ball away, you can say goodbye squeaker! And Lally LOVES that squeaker! And believe me, if Lally hears a squeak in the mist, you better stand back and let her have it. I happened to be watching a video of a dog with a new squeaky toy on my computer this week. Well, one squeak into the video, Lally came sprinting into the office and starts looking in all my usual toy hiding spots -- the box that our Christmas toys were shipped in and the bag where I keep the rawhides. She would not leave me alone until I produced the squeaky she heard. (Lucky for me, I keep a supply of Freaky Squeakies on hand AT ALL TIMES. Otherwise, I'm going to get mugged by a wiggly squiggly Boxer/Shar-pei mix!)
