by Aimee Amodio

13 Jul 2009 04:14 PM

by Aimee Amodio

29 May 2009 05:41 PM

It may well be the hottest day of the year -- so far, which isn't saying much considering it's not even officially summer yet. The Weather Channel reports that it is currently 88 degrees Fahrenheit, and I just got back from a quick walk with the doggies.

by Aimee Amodio

25 May 2009 06:56 PM

The dog park here in town recently got remodeled... and it's great. Not that it wasn't nice before -- a large, securely fenced area with a spigot for the dogs to have fresh water while they played. But it's even better now. Improvement #1: an "airlock" style gate.

Homecoming: Casey

by Aimee Amodio

I was home in New Jersey for a few days, and had the opportunity to visit some friends. One stop I couldn't miss was the home of my friends M. and L. and their dog Casey. Casey has appeared in the Pets Blog before. I used to be the first choice pet sitter when M. and L.

It's been quiet on the Pets Blog for the last few days because I took my first trip back to the East Coast in more than a year. I moved west with my two dogs in May 2007 -- I managed to get home to visit twice in that first year, but hadn't been home again since January 2008.

Have you ever been to a dog show? Would you like to? Here are some tips for how you should behave in order to be asked to sit and stay. Don't just pet the dogs -- ask first! This is a good idea anywhere, really.

Find a Vet Before You Need a Vet

Be prepared... isn't that the Boy Scout motto? It's a pretty good motto for just about anyone -- especially pet owners. I recently read a story of a woman who took her dog on vacation with her. While on vacation, the dog began suffering from bloat -- a serious and life-threatening condition.

Traveling with Mr. Meow

by Courtney Mroch

21 Nov 2007 09:06 AM

I've only had to travel long distances with cats a couple of times. Once when we moved from Tucson up to Phoenix and we relocated Sneakers with us. The next time was hauling Mr. Meow up here from Jacksonville, and then for our family road trip to Denver for Christmas 2005.
