Chaotic Cat Chronicles: Crouching Meowy, Flying Tabby (Hidden Murphy)

I never could have imagined the even bigger strides that were to follow the end of Mr. Meow's bed boycott back in June.

Distraught

The first part of this year was so incredibly stressful. I didn't know what to do about Tabby and it seemed Mr. Meow had met his ultimate match. He was all freaked out and unhappy, which broke my heart. My poor little Meowy sure didn't deserve Tabby's harassment.

I felt so guilty. After all, I was the one who'd brought her home and she'd immediately run roughshod over the cat who had previously reigned the kingdom.

New Law in Town

Thankfully the days of strife and discontent are behind us. These days there's an entirely new chaos in power at our house.

It's the double trouble ruling duo of Mr. Meow and Tabby.

Then vs. Now

In the beginning, they couldn't stand to be in the same room and avoided each other. Nowadays, they seek each other out.

In the beginning, the stampede of cat paws meant their efforts at avoiding each other had failed and Tabby was chasing down Mr. Meow once again. Nowadays, we have to look to see who's chasing who.

In the beginning, a chase meant Tabby was bullying her brother. These days it means they're into mischief.

Oh, The Mischief They Get Into!

You never know when chaos is going to erupt around here. An animal diving off the stairs to make a mad scramble across the wood floor or a frenzied dash from one room to another indicates a race is underway.

Or maybe a sudden thunk, doing, or whap racket will alert us to the fact playtime has started.

That's how Murph and I know we must tread carefully lest a Crouching Meowy or Flying Tabby springs out at us. Because their favorite thing to do is to lay in wait for each other, and if someone else stumbles by they're fair game too.

And you never know where they'll be. Under a table, behind a door, on the other side of the couch, on top of the refrigerator...

That's why Murph hides when the ruckus starts. It's safer that way.
