The Elderly Teach “The Baby Borrowers” Lessons in Love

I may not have children, but last night’s episode of “The Baby Borrowers” was one I could definitely relate to: The teens had to care for the elderly. Since I’m fresh off my duty of caregiving for my mom, the episode struck particularly close to home. Even more so because one of the ladies was on oxygen and two others had suffered strokes. As it’s become clear that Grandma Dorothy is here for an extended visit, the only ones not fretting about how it affects their lives are Murphy, Mr. Meow, and Tabby. They have enthusiastically embraced the mission of the personal pet therapy project and have eagerly selected their own assignments for my mom’s rehabilitation. Chaotic Cat Chronicles: The Cats vs. The Oxygen Machine

When my mom fell sick a few weeks back she was put on oxygen while in the hospital. Since her oxygen saturation level still wasn’t where it should be when she was released, they had to put her on oxygen at home. At her house she had the same set up we ended up getting for her once I brought her here. It’s a little machine with tubing (we call it her tether) that lets her roam pretty much everywhere while still being connected to the oxygen.
