The Pets Blog Week in Review for April 14-20

If the spring in the air has kept you out instead of in more, but you still want to keep up on the happenings in the Pets Blog, fear not. This handy Week in Review will keep you in the loop about Aimee and I wrote about on: Monday, April 14 Aimee covered everything you’d ever want to know about guinea pig cages. Sometimes an inspirational animal story comes along that is just marvelously wonderful. The story of Oscar the naked cockatoo is just such a story. Guinea Pig Cages

When it comes to housing your guinea pigs, bigger is better. If you have only one guinea pig (this isn’t recommended, as guinea pigs are social animals), you should be sure to provide at least seven and a half square feet of living space. Hedgehogs have fascinated me from an early age, ever since my childhood introduction to Sonic the Hedgehog, a video game and cartoon character. Real hedgehogs, however, don’t look anything like Sonic, with his spiky blue ‘do … Continue reading

Shopping the Sales: Cool Christmas Clearance for Other Pets

I only have a cat and a dog, but I know other Families.com members consider species other than canine and feline family too. Since I presented cool Christmas clearance for dogs and cats, and don’t want to leave anyone out, I went bargain hunting for small pets, fish, and reptiles too. I picked the following deals based on how they appealed to the consumer in me. (Meaning, if I thought it was a novel or functional item for a fair price that would appeal to me if I had such a pet, I included it.) Small Pets: If I was … Continue reading
