I recently moved into a new condo in the same neighborhood, and my new neighbor is not a fan of big dogs. Of course I have two big dogs! This goes without saying, but you can never say it too often because it happens every year: don’t give pets as presents.  If you’re thinking about gifting a pet to someone you love this year, consider very carefully.  Pets are lifelong commitments and responsibilities, not fun presents. Meeting the Neighbor Dogs

I’ve blogged before about my neighbor’s dogs, the ones she lets roam free through the neighborhood. Sometimes I see them in our yard. Yesterday while I was working, I noticed one of them, the tan one, out the window. I went outside to greet it, as I always do whenever I see any of the neighborhood pets. Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotels

Disneyland and Disney World aren’t identical. One of the big ways they differ is in size; Disney World is much larger than Disneyland. Because of this there are far fewer hotels at Disneyland than Disney World; I can think of dozens in Orlando, but Disneyland has only three: the Disneyland Hotel, the Grand Californian, and Paradise Pier. Not Feeling Very Neighborly

It’s been so nice lately that I want to work in my yard and neglect the inside of my house. The outside of our homes says just as much about us as the inside but right now, I’m struggling with it. I have one of “those” neighbors, trash fills their yard, cars and car parts litter the driveway and front yard. Half built shacks lean against the house and the weeds have completely taken over the yard. Good Neighbor – A Magazine Ad from State Farm

We are all inundated with advertisements. Insurance companies have learned to be clever with the types of ads they produce. State Farm has created an advertisement that appears, at first glance, to be a magazine. It got my attention. I just got back from a week long vacation (that included a family wedding). Consideration for Neighbors- Part 2

People, and especially children, practicing an instrument can be hard on the ears. Years ago we used to live next to a school and they sent the children outside to practice with their recorders, right near my study window. Recorders were never my favorite instrument but I’ve had an aversion to them ever since. Barking dogs can also be a problem. Consideration for Neighbors

Wherever we live we are going to have neighbors. Whether we live in a flat or unit, in a town house, a house on a normal sized block or even a property out in the country, there will likely be some neighbors. It makes life far more pleasant if we got along with our neighbors. All it requires often is a bit of consideration for others.
