Celebrating a Second Anniversary as a Pets Blogger

Two years ago today I officially started on with Families.com as one of their newest Pets Bloggers. Ironically enough, two years later on my anniversary date, here I’ve turned in my two weeks notice. Wolf Protection Restored

A federal judge temporarily restored endangered species status for gray wolves in the Rocky Mountains earlier this month. The judge’s decision halted plans in three different states to hold public wolf hunts. Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho were planning wolf hunts for this fall in order to control wolf populations and reduce the number of attacks on livestock. Back in March of this year, gray wolves were removed from the endangered species list. Super Huskies!

A study from Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences has declared the Alaskan husky to world’s top animal athlete. For the last decade, a team from Oklahoma State University has been studying the racing teams that take part in the Iditarod. As the study progressed, the researchers were able to observe dogs in other races and even conduct simulated races in a controlled environment. These simulated races allowed researchers to monitor heart and lung function for participants. Cool, huh? Some people want to adopt a pet or help animals but they don’t want to adopt the responsibility that comes with it. Or maybe it’s not so much they don’t want the responsibility as it is circumstances prevent them from taking it on.
